New Zealand Waterfalls (South Island)

There are so many waterfalls in South Island like North Island in Newzealand. But here we discuss some of them. Those are most famous and visited places here.
Humboldt Falls is one of the better kept secrets in Fiordland National Park. This is 275 meters long and also accompanied by a tall companion waterfall about half the overall height of the main falls. Once you reached you can visit it for free as long as you can arrange your own transport to the track itself.
Just beware of the sand flies.

Sutherland Falls is NewZealand's mightiest waterfall. Plugging 580m in three distinct vertical leaps, it is among-st the tallest waterfalls in the world. There is a memorable story about how this waterfall got named, which you can read more in the books.

Hidden Falls is a gushing 20 meter or 25 meter that I reckon got its name from the fact that it's mostly hidden from view the main track. The Hidden Falls required a pretty long 5-6 hours of hiking along the Holly ford Track.

Creak Falls is 40m long. It provides an opportunity to get out of the car a you motor across the Southern Alps via the Lewis pass. During the short uphill walk to the falls,  you may also notice a smaller cascade near the main falls.

Ac-land Falls is one of three waterfalls in the pretty peaceful peel Forest a couple hours drive from Christchurch. The 14m falls didn't blow you away with its size.

Horseshoe Falls is a small 10m waterfall that is literally minutes away from Matai Falls. Thus, you can see it while driving along the Southern Scenic Route in the Catlins Forest Park.

Devils Punchbowl Falls is the tallest and most prominent waterfall feature in the Arthur's Pass ares. Towering at 131m, this snow-fed waterfall can be seen in a variety of ways. I was able to see the falls both from the base and from across the Arthur,s Pass Valley.

Twin Creek Falls is a 115m waterfall that you can spot from the Arthur's Pass Highway not far from the Otira Viaduct. But it's usually over looked as drivers motor their way through this Southern Alps traverse. Had it not been for Devil's Punchbowl Falls not much further to the  South, this waterfall might have gotten its own signed car park as well as increased attention.

New Zealand Waterfalls (North Island)

The Waterfalls collections of New Zealand encompasses almost every imaginable variety.
KitekiteFalls is a scenic many tiered waterfall to drop a total of 40 meter. The lowest three tiers of the falls make up most of the overall waterfall,

Karekare Falls is a beautiful 24 meter long waterfall found nearby Karekare Beach, which was one of the
best location for films and one of the movie (The Piano) used this place. Fall is near from car parking, and there was a picnic table before the plunge pool making for a decent place for both a picnic and maybe even a swim.
Rainbow Falls is a nice 27 meter waterfall that looks really like Whangarei Falls which is also located New Zealand.
It makes for a pleasant diversion away from the quaint town of kerikeri or away from the coastal scenery of the Bay of Island.
Bridal Veil Falls is an attractive waterfall flowing its way through the dense native to a plunge pool.
Located in National Park, this waterfall is a part of a larger system of wterfalls called the Aniwaniwa Falls.
Waitonga Falls is one of the tallest and largest waterfall in National Park Tongariro.
It falls 39 meters in two twisting tiers amongst a rugged volacanic rock on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu. The scenic track to the falls is well worth the effort as it passes through some area before crossing through a very beautiful scence.
Waihi Falls is a small known waterfall and perhaps the southernmost waterfall on the north Island.
It is 25 meters long but it has a much wider span than its vertical drop, and it segments when not in full flood.
McLaren Falls was once an impressive raging waterfall before its flow was restricted for many hydroelectric purposes.
Normally the falls flows like its normal self only when it rains heavily or on one of the 26 weekends where water is released to let daring kayakers or caners run the whitewater.
